Diamond District: Located between Fifth
Avenue and Sixth Avenue in midtown Manhattan, the Diamond
District lies in the very heart of the New York City borough
of Manhattan. Situated on West 47th Street not far north-east
from Times Square, and only one block from the famous
Rockefeller Center. A further three blocks south from
the Diamond District lies the world-known Radio City Music
Hall which is three blocks south of St Patick’s Cathedral
and only one block east of the Broadway Theater District.

diamonds in the world more than 90 percent of the US demand
on diamonds go through New York City and most of them
through the Diamond District in Manhattan. Over 2,600
independent businesses in the Diamond District are related
to a certain degree to the diamond or fine jewelry industry.
When diamond dealer first moved north from another district
near Canal Street and the Bowery back in the 1920s they
created a new district. Now known as the Diamond District.
This district has become a primary location of the global
diamond industry along with London, Antwerp in Belgium,
Mumbai in India, Ramat Gan in Israel and last but not
